As a small business owner, creating an audience is great (aka social media) however cultivating a community is POWERFUL. I made it a goal to grow my email list in 2023 and looking back it was one of my greatest achievements not because I hit my goal of 600, but because of the connections I have made through my email list. In this blog I am going to give you a few tips that I implemented on how I grew my email list to 600 in less than a year.

When I think of valuable content I think of service, providing my audience with insights, tips, and free tangible information that is going to make their lives better. I send my audience free meditations, mindfulness tips, inspirational poems & quotes, anything that helps them feel better. Tip one, create content that is valuable to your audience and serve them well.

Opt-In Forms

We have all heard of using Opt-In Forms but what I see missing all the time is the encouragement to subscribe. When creating your form give something that is inviting as well as clear to the subscriber. Consider offering incentives such as freebies, discounts, or exclusive access to connective communities, or affiliate programs.

Using Social Media To Promote

Social media will never not be a thing in the small business world, so use it to your advantage! Social media is a create tool to use to reach a larger audience because you don’t need to follow you to be seen. Share snippets of what subscribers will get if they join. Another incentive I used was hosting giveaways to get my audience to subscribe! Make it worth it for them.

The Power Of Word Of Mouth

Growing your email list doesn’t always have to be through social media or even online! Encourage your subscribers to share with their friends, family, and co-workers to join your email list by giving them rewards in exchange! It could be rewards, exclusive discounts, or early access to products/services.
