A Moment For Self Compassion : Guided Meditation

Welcome to Embody, today we are taking a moment for self compassion through guided meditation. To tune into our experience with presence, curiosity, and self -compassion. Take a moment to find a comfortable seated position, elongating the spine, letting the shoulders and arms rest comfortably, your hands resting on your thighs or in your lap.

Take a moment to connect with the surface underneath you, really sensing how grounded you are. As you feel like you’re grounded, turn your attention towards your breath, letting a few cleansing breaths move in and out of you.

We’re going to take a second here to connect with our heart. If it feels good for you, bring your palms to rest on your chest, continuing to just breathe naturally. you As you breathe, feel your hands rising and falling with your chest.

See if you can connect with this part of yourself with love, tenderness, presence, as if you were sending yourself care through the palms of your hands. With this next breath, I want you to take a moment and know that whatever it is you’re going through.

That experience is entirely human. Every emotion, every thought, everything that we go through is part of our humanity. Take a moment to honor that experience with care, warmth, grace, and curiosity.

Visualization of Compassion

Now imagine that someone you love was going through what you’re going through right now. Whatever hurdle you’re facing, consider that someone you love has or will go through something very similar. What words of support and love and care would you offer this person? How would you show them compassion?

Compassion For You

Now offer those same words of love and support and care to yourself in this moment. If this feels challenging or a bit out of your reach, know that it’s okay. And consider repeating these words.

May: I be patient and compassionate with myself.

I speak to myself with kindness.

Honor my human experience.

I love myself unconditionally, today, tomorrow, and every day that follows. “

Spend a few moments here, allowing those words to really sink in for you.

Breathing them in. And as we round out this meditation, bow your head slightly, maybe have a smile on your face and thank yourself for being here, for showing up for you. If you’re ready, invite some light back into your eyes from opening them from bottom to top.

Take a deep breath in through the nose. And as you exhale, carry this self-compassion with you throughout the day.

Thank you for joining me on a moment for self compassion through guided meditation on this Valentine’s Day.
